My Favs2

L to R: DiorSkin Nude BB Creme, Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow, Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller, Real Technique Buffing Brush, Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Waterproof Mascara, Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector and Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler.

Hi Everyone!

So I thought that as my first post I would share with you some of my favourite products. I was originally going to go with my top 5, but then I couldn’t pick just 5 products and tools. So I decided to pick 5 products and 2 tools (not the most elegant name…but I digress). These are the products and tools that I continually find myself going back to, despite having a ton of products to chose from.

Dior Skin Nude BB Cream (shade 002) – This is my go to product for my skin. It creates a flawless airbrushed look to my skin and provides coverage similar to a light foundation. It wears great, and makes my dry skin look dewy without looking oily. I usually wear shade 002, though I in the winter I usually mix it with shade 001 as it tends to be slightly too dark on my pale skin.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow (in No Pressure!) – I’ve been using Benefit’s Cream Shadow since they were first introduced, they’re a great long wearing cream shadow. The shade ‘No Pressure’ is my favourite, it’s great as both as a base and on its own. I usually wear it on its own, on my top lid and then smudge out along my bottom lashes. It wears great, and lasts all day with no primer.

Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller (Light) – This is the best product that I have found that can lighten the area under my eye, without sinking into my newly discovered fine lines (yay for being 30 :|). The coverage is quite light, so I’m not sure how well it would do for someone that had very dark circles, but it works perfectly for the shadows under my eyes.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush – This is my favourite brush. It makes applying foundation effortless. It has synthetic bristles, so it doesn’t absorb any of the product and distributes it nicely across the skin. I can’t say enough good things about this brush. Its also great for buffing cream blush onto the skin.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Waterproof Mascara – I tend to gravitate towards waterproof mascara for a couple of reasons; 1) I rub my eyes a lot and 2) Despite having normal to dry, very dehydrated skin, my eyelids are oily and cause any non waterproof mascara to smudge and run. After 8 hours of work wearing non waterproof mascara, I look like a racoon. Maybelline waterproof mascaras are my favourite, they hold a curl wonderfully and don’t smudge. The brush on this mascara is great, it’s a big fluffy fibre brush that doesn’t leave clumps.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (02) - This is a gloss/balm that really does what it says, it’s a glossy pink ‘your lips but better.’ It’s very moisturizing, it makes your lips glossy but not glittery.

So there you have it! My favourite products. Are any of your favourites on this list? What are the 5 products you couldn’t live without?

Thanks for reading!

Welcome To My Blog

Hey Everyone,

I’m Meg, and I’m a huge makeup and skin care junkie, and by day a Marketing Analyst (in part to support my makeup and skin care habit!). I previously blogged at http://megsmakeupbag.blogspot.ca in 2011/2012, and loved every minuted of it! However, in March 2012 an opportunity came along that I couldn’t pass up; I became the Communications & Marketing Director for AeroVelo, and their human-powered helicopter (if you want to read more about it, check out www.aerovelo.com). This took up a fair amount of time, and I found I just didn’t have enough time to devote to the blog and the team.

Recently, I’ve found myself focusing much more on skin care I’m using as I’ve just turned 30 (ugh!), and looking up skin care reviews on blogs and YouTube to try and find the best products for my skin. Spending so much time back on beauty blogs and trying all these different products made me realize how much I wanted to get back into blogging and sharing what I’ve learned/found.

So welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy!

Meg
