July 2014 Favourites

July 2014 Favourites

It’s favourites time again here on Meg’s Makeup Bag. For my July 2014 Favourites, I’ve picked the 6 products that I’ve been absolutely loving this month.

Essence Beach Cruisers Blush in I Love Summer Break – Obsessed. With. This. Blush. This is possibly my favourite blush I’ve ever purchased. It’s super pigmented and the colour is absolutely gorgeous. Essence blushes have time and time again wowed me, but this one is just above and beyond. It’s the only blush that I’ve been wearing all month.

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black – First off, a disclaimer, I’m awful at describing scents. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, I’ve been absolutely loving this scent. It’s definitely a more night time like scent, but I’ve been loving wearing it during the day. According to Sephora, it has notes of Vanilla, Sandalwood and Violet. All I can say is that it smells amazing. This is the 100 pt perk size from Sephora, and once it runs out I will definitely be purchasing the full size version.

Almay Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer – Before this primer, I really liked the concept of a primer, but had never found one that I really liked or really worked for me. This primer actually helps to extend the life of my makeup, even in the super humid summer weather we’ve been having here in Toronto. It also evens out my skintone, so I find myself using less base.

Bath & Body Works Island Margarita Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel – I always carry an anti-bacterial hand gel with me, but this is the first time I’ve ever included one in my favourites. It is by far the best smelling anti-bacterial hand gel I’ve come across. It actually smells like a margarita, and because it’s not trying to hide the alcohol scent, but works with it. I’ve gone back and stocked up, because I don’t think I’ll find a scent I like more.

Clarins Lip Balm Crayon in 01 My Pink – This link pink glossy lip crayon reminds me a lot of the Dior Addict Lip Glow. It’s a baby pink that goes on quite sheer, and is super hydrating. I like it because it gives a little colour to my lips, while hydrating them. Bonus it smells like Vanilla!

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water – I usually use the Lush Rose Water as my toner, but I’ve switched to this one for the warmer weather. The tea tree oil in the toner helps to keep the my skin clear and the oil at bay, while not drying it out.

So there you have it, my July 2014 Favourites. I hope you enjoyed my ramblings about these products. Have you tried any of these products?

L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB – Anti Fatigue

L'Oreal Anti Fatigue BB Cream

If you’ve read my blog, you’ll know how much I love a good base, especially a BB Cream. Today’s post is all about the L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream – Anti Fatigue version. I have the original version of this BB cream and really enjoy it, so I was intrigued to see they had launched new versions aimed at reducing the look of redness and fatigue on the skin.

I picked up the Anti-Fatigue version, because really who doesn’t want to look less fatigued :). This BB Cream is a peachy orange shade that is designed to be worn alone, or underneath a foundation. When I initially swatched it on my hand, it came out very orange and I was worried that on my face it would make me look like an oompa loompa. However, it blended great into my skin and didn’t make me look orange. It also brightened up my skin tone, and made me look more awake.

There isn’t a lot of coverage with this BB cream, even compared to the regular version. While the peachy tint does help to even out the skintone, if you’re looking for anything more than a light coverage, you’re going to want to layer a foundation on top of it.

Overall, I really the peachy tone in the L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB – Anti Fatigue cream. It definitely adds a brightness to my skin and some how magically makes me look more awake.
