February 2014 Favourites

Hi Everyone,

It’s favourites time again. I always look forward to these posts, because to me, if someone calls a product a favourite, it’s worth looking it. I always find that my “Want to buy” list gets super long at favourites time.

Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Bare Light & Diorskin Nude BB Creme – This is nude lotion that looks shimmery, but when smoothed on the skin creates a great base that illuminates the skin without shimmer. I’ve started using it in combination with my Dior bb creme, and it just gives the most natural, yet flawless look to my skin. It’s my new go-to combination.

Soap & Glory Glow All Out – This is a light pink highlighter that I have been obsessed with since I got my hands on it. You can read more about my first impressions here. It’s not too strong to use as a highlight for everyday, I cannot say enough good things about it. I’m going to have to figure out how to get it here in Canada once I run out of it.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer – First of all, how awesome is this name? This was also part of the Soap & Glory haul (you can read about it here) It’s got a pink toned and yellow toned concealer, as well as a powder. The pink concealer is perfect for brightening up my dark under eye circles, and the yellow is great for general concealing. It’s a great little all in one palette.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm in Drive Me Nude – These colour balm sticks from Rimmel are new to Canada, but they’ve been around in the UK for quite a while. So I was really excited to try these when I saw them at my local drugstore. They’re a nice glossy colour balm, that leaves a nice wash of colour on the lips. My favourite so far is the shade “Drive Me Nude”, which is a my lips but better nude.

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Moisturizing Eye Cream – This winter has been awful on my skin, and no where more so than my under eye. I’ve tried many difference eye creams and this is by far my favourite. It’s got the consistency of a balm, and hydrates so well, but I’m still able to use it in the morning and apply concealer on top.

So there you have it, my February 2014 favourites. See any of your favourites up here?

New Discovery! Pantene Pro V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo

Pantene Dry Shampoo

Pantene Dry Shampoo

Hi Everyone!

I’m a big dry shampoo user, I have thick curly hair that I blow dry straight on a regular basis and use dry shampoo to extend the blow dry for as long as possible.

I’ve tried a number of dry shampoos over the last couple of years and my favourite to date has been the Dove Dry Shampoo. My only complaint about the Dove Dry Shampoo is that it can leave a white film in my dark hair if I’m not super careful at brushing it all out.

Recently I saw this new Pantene Pro V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo that is designed to help extend your blow out, so I thought I would try it out and see how it stands up next to the dove version.

Now whether or not this dry shampoo extends my blow out longer than others is debatable. It works just as well as others at absorbing oil, and prolonging the time between washes. The reason I’m so excited about this is that it’s the first dry shampoo I’ve tried that comes out clear, that’s right it’s 100% clear. As someone with dark hair, this is just absolutely awesome, I can use this and not worry about having white residue left in my hair.

Needless to say, this is now my go to dry shampoo.
